About us

Our mission is to make one-to-one tutoring accessible to everyone, not just the lucky few.

Our people

We are a team of teachers, parents and technologists, based in London, who all understand both the emotional and academic value of one-to-one tuition.

Our goal

We have built Matr to make one-to-one tuition affordable and convenient for busy parents, and fun and engaging for children.

Our ethos

We know that structured feedback and encouragement from an expert tutor is one of the best ways to build academic confidence and curiosity in our children.

We’re built on strong foundations

Our history started in UK primary schools in 2013, supporting teachers with online one-to-one maths tuition, as part of the school timetable, helping to reinforce their classroom teaching… and the feedback was brilliant!

“It has given them a love and enjoyment of Maths. The children have improved academically, even those who previously found Maths difficult at school.”

Schools partnerships

Since then we have worked with thousands of teachers, and tens of thousands of pupils, to deliver our online one-to-one maths teaching.

Every term we receive feedback from classrooms across the country to ensure our online one-to-one tutoring is best in class and aligned with National Curriculum teaching strategies.

Tried, tested and ready for families across the UK

Now that we have proven ourselves in schools, we want to start helping families at home.

After working with thousands of schools, we’re confident that you and your child will love our online one-to-one tutoring.

Don’t just take our word for it…

"I think all families should give this a try, especially if they thought quality one-to-one help with their child's maths wasn't possible within their budget. Amazing value."
Natasha P, Annee's Mum
